12CCC

12TH Conference on Colloid Chemistry

From fundamentals to sustainable application

Budapest, Hungary

September 27–30, 2026.

The first colloid conference in Hungary was launched in 1971 as a forum for scientists and industrial partners to discuss and share advances in the field of colloid science.
Since then, these meetings have become a key international platform for collaboration and innovation in colloid and interface science.

History of the Hungarian Colloid Conferences

The first colloid conference in Hungary was held in 1971 in Mátrafüred. Since then, eleven national conferences have taken place, providing a platform for scientists and industrial experts to exchange ideas and present their latest discoveries.
The 1975 Budapest conference, co-organized with IUPAC, marked a turning point by reconnecting Hungarian colloid researchers with the international scientific community.
Over the decades, the series has continued to attract growing international interest and participation.

About the 12th Colloid Chemistry Conference

Since the early discoveries in colloid science, the field has evolved into a vibrant interdisciplinary area connecting chemistry, physics, biology, and nanoscience.

Today, colloid and interface science plays a vital role in nanotechnology and materials science, driving innovations that contribute to sustainable development and a cleaner environment.
The conference welcomes researchers, industrial partners, and students to discuss new insights, challenges, and applications of colloidal and nanostructured systems.

Manuscripts based on presentations delivered at the 12th Conference on Colloid Chemistry may be submitted to the journal Periodica Polytechnica Chemical Engineering (https://pp.bme.hu/ch). All submissions will undergo the journal’s standard peer-review process. Detailed submission information will be provided during the conference.
